It’s that time of the year again when Christmas cheer is in the air! And what better way to get into the festive mood than with some Christmas crafting? We’ve got some amazing yet simple crafting ideas for kids and the best part is, you can even tie it in with a visit to Little Farmers!
Paper Plate Reindeer
Create a herd of paper reindeer to roam about the house or hide amongst the tree branches. Start with a white paper plate. Paint the plate brown and attach two googly eyes, a red pom-pom nose, and a few antlers made from thin branches found in your garden. You can even add some glitter to make your reindeer extra sparkly! Finally, punch a hole at the top of the plate and attach a string or ribbon to hang it anywhere you wish. Why not make one for each of Santa’s trusty reindeer?
Snowy Owl Wreath
Bring charm to your front door with a quirky owl-themed wreath. Use a white paper plate as the base and cut out the middle to form a wreath shape. Next, help your kids cut out owl shapes from white and brown paper or felt. Glue them onto the wreath and embellish with silver or blue tinsel for a snowy effect. Hang it up and let the festive fun begin!
DIY Wrapping Paper
Why not take crafting one step further and personalise your Christmas gifts with homemade wrapping paper? Grab some old wrapping paper or brown craft paper, and let your kids unleash their creativity. They can draw, paint, or even stamp their unique designs on the paper. It’s the perfect way to add a special touch to every present this Christmas!
Animal Ornaments
This year why not try an animal theme for your tree inspired by Craigies wonderful animals? Using foam sheets or thick coloured card, cut out the silhouette of your child’s favourite farm animals (most likely our Highland Coos!?). Get creative and let your kids add sequins, glitter, or googly eyes to bring these ornaments to life. Attach a loop of ribbon or string at the top, and they’re ready to hang. From sheep to lambs, penguins and even kangaroos – let those little imaginations run wild!
